The owner-designer of a most unique guest-house in the trees selected the Fireplace Xtrordinair Bed & Breakfast portrait-style gas fireplace with the hand-wrought Artisan face to warm this one-of-a-kind space.
Featured in the February 2006 issue of Architectural Digest, this 450 square foot, story-book tree house is intended for grown-ups! Anchored to several giant western red cedar trees, this chalet-style guest house is suspended 20 feet above the ground to take advantage of a water-front view. The guest house includes a main room, bedroom alcove, a small kitchen with dining area, a half bath, two lofts and a deck. The Bed & Breakfast fireplace, located in a corner of the main room, is the perfect scale for a space this size.
There has been a surge of interest in tree houses across the country, and Tree-House Workshop, a Seattle-based firm and a leader in serious tree house construction, provided the owners with the expertise to plan and complete their project. Local hearth dealer, Custom Hearth in Port Orchard, Washington, provided installation services for the gas-fired fireplace. |
